newport travel diaries jpegI vaguely remember visiting Newport, Rhode Island when I was younger, so being able to go back and create new memories and document our Newport travel diaries has truly made my heart so so happy! You know when you picture something going a certain picture perfect way in your head? Well, our quick 24 hours in Newport went EXACTLY how I planned it in my head-since when does that ever happen?! Haha. But really, Newport was incredible from everything to our hotel, the mansion tours, the drives through the beautiful neighborhoods, the wineries-it was all perfect. Keep on reading below if you want a full recap of our Newport Travel Diaries! NEWPORT TRAVEL DIARIES:
NEWPORT MANSION TOURS

IMG_0051

Touring the infamous Newport Mansions was mind blowing! I studied about the mansions in one of my college courses and ever since then, I’ve wanted to see the in person. Over the top doesn’t even begin to explain it. I could do an entire post simply highlighting the Newport Mansions and all of the pictures I took. Seeing how people used to live and their extravagant lifestyles was beyond interesting. We decided to purchase the 2-house tour tickets, which included the Breakers. I would recommend that if you do anything, to make sure you tour the Breakers. It’s by far the most elegant, rich, and down right insane mansion on the list of houses to tour. The second mansion we toured, Rosecliff, has a long list of movies that were filmed there, like the first Great Gatsby! Above anything, I feel like adding these mansion tours to your to-do list in Newport is a must! It’s by far one of the biggest highlights from our time in Newport that I’m so lucky to document for our Newport Travel Diaries.

NEWPORT TRAVEL DIARIES:
HISTORIC OCEAN DRIVE

IMG_5082

Maybe I’m the only one who didn’t realize this, but people actually live along the historic ocean drive in Newport! Ha! For some reason, I thought it was only the historic mansions to tour-but NOPE! People live in this MASSIVE mansions by the sea. It’s honestly the most picture perfect place I’ve ever seen or driven through. There’s a road that takes you along the coast that passes mansion after mansion. We stopped at a little rest area where a bunch of other people were out taking pictures and catching the sunset. If you don’t have time to tour the actual mansions, you haveeee to take the historic ocean drive and at least drive by and through all of the neighborhoods! It’s an incredible sight to see-definitely a high point for our Newport Travel Diaries.

NEWPORT TRAVEL DIARIES:
NEWPORT VINEYARDS

Ohhhh Newport Vineyards-you have stolen my lil ol’ heart. I had looked Newport Vineyards up before we even left for our trip and knew I wanted to make this part of our Newport Travel Diaries. It looked so cute & after visiting, it definitely did not disappoint. I had the Rose & Dennis had the Rose Sangria-the drink of the day! Both of which were super tasty. What we were most blown away by was the FOOD! We ordered Philly cheesesteak egg rolls (yes, they were as amazing as they sound) and nachos! We kept saying “This food is so dang good!” as we stuffed out faces. 🙂 We sat outside on the patio that overlooked the vineyards. When I think of what a perfect lunch looks like-this was it. Even when it started to rain a little bit, we moved under an overhang and let the little bit of rain pass, sipped our drinks, and enjoyed each others company! Like I said before, it was exactly how I envisioned it in my head!

NEWPORT TRAVEL DIARIES:
THE SEA BREEZE INN

IMG_4950

As you know, Rhode Island is incredibly small. With that being said, you can drive anywhere pretty quickly! That’s why I wasn’t too worried when our cute hotel wasn’t actually in “Newport” exactly. It was less than a mile in the town next to Newport haha! We looked out onto the water and were a quick 2 minute drive to the Newport Mansion Tours! The Sea Breeze Inn is owned by a cute Greek couple we just had the best time! We were able to check in early and get settled, which was really nice after driving earlier that day from New York! They have a cafe that is open to regulars (which gets packed!) but if you are a guest there, your breakfast in included. Our morning there consisted of breakfast there and then off to tour the Mansions I mentioned above. We sat on the patio and we’re actually cold-in JULY! That just isn’t a thing in Arizona and we were loving it. I highly suggest The Sea Breeze Inn for your stay in Newport because of how quaint it was and its close proximity to everything-including restaurants, the beach, downtown Newport, the Mansions, the cliff walk, etc.

That wraps up our Newport Travel Diaries & I’m one post away from wrapping up our east coast road trip travels! I’m sort of dreading writing it because that means the whole east coast road trip series will come to an end! But I’ve loved documenting our moments that I can look back at as memories years from now! I’m feeling super grateful to be able to experience new places with my best friend, capture moments with modern technology, and be able to share it with the world! I hope everyone enjoys their Monday! Until next time! Ps-if you want to follow along, go ahead and subscribe here so you never miss a beat!
