When Life Gives You Lululemons: December Book Review

As some of you may know, I worked at lululemon for about two years, so when I saw this book, the title drew me right in! I actually started reading this book about a month ago but life got crazy busy & I’m only getting to the review now! Hence why this post, When Life Gives You Lululemons: December Book Review, is a little delayed. I figured instead of trying to rush and finish a book before November ended and throwing together a blog post, that I would take my time and simply push it to December’s calendar! *PS: Grab your copy of When Life Gives You Lululemons HERE

After I finished reading this, I googled the author to read a little bit more about her and then I realized that this is like a sequel to The Devil Wears Prada. I HAD NO IDEA!! It all makes sense to me now. Haha. I loved everything about The Devil Wears Prada so it was no surprise that I loved When Life Gives You Lululemons, too! Finding this out made me that much more excited to share When Life Gives You Lululemons: December Book Review!

This book had the perfect amount of drama and innocence to make it such a quick read! I couldn’t put it down once I really got into the book. Not going to lie, at first though I had trouble keeping the characters straight until their character development really kicked in. Then it was smooth sailing! I like to read other reviews of books I’ve read once I’ve finished the book and formed my own opinion of the book overall. I was sort of disappointed when I found some negative reviews of this book out there! Shocked as well! Some mentioned the characters didn’t have enough development and were surface level. But holy cow, I could not disagree more!

Emily is so blunt and spunky and stays true to that throughout the book but you see a deeper side to her towards the end. (Don’t want to give out any spoilers) The way Weisberger develops Karolina’s character next is genius. You love her, feel for her, are jealous of her, you feel all of the feels when getting to know her in this book. Lastly, Miriam. Oh Miriam. If I could describer Miriam in one word: relatable!! Weisberger created such a dynamic character that is so easy to relate to. Her insecurities, her career path, her family life, all of it! Overall, I think Miriam might have been my favorite character throughout When Life Gives You Lululemons.

I don’t like to give too much of the plot away, but the way these three women band together to take down Karolina’s powerful, political husband is genius. I love me some girl power in books and this book gave me just that! At times when I was reading, I felt like physical pain because I was feeling so sorry for Karolina! How does that even happen!? Haha. But it was amazing.

To sum it up, When Life Gives You Lululemons was a fun read that was a definite page turner. Nothing too heavy so it makes it perfect for a plane ride or simply at home relaxing! Be sure to add this bad boy to your reading list for 2019! You won’t be disappointed. I’d give this book an 8/10 because of how quickly I read it and how fun of a read it was.
